Backup Oblivion - Tom Cruise's Twentieth $200 Million Box Film
Oblivion is Tom Cruise's twentieth film to gross more than
$200 million worldwide. This post-apocalyptic science fiction film was based on
Joseph Kosinski's Radical Comics-edited unpublished graphic novel of the same
name. However, this film underperformed at the American box office, grossing
only $89 million. Oblivion stars Tom Cruise and Olga Kurylenko, and it was
co-written, produced and directed by Kosinski. The film theatrically released
on April 19, 2013 in the U.S. and received mixed reviews. The acting and visual
effects were praised, while critiques of the story were mixed.
