Backup Life of Pi 3D Blu-ray – Best 2013 Movie and 3D Blu-ray Release

Life of Pi is a 3D live-action computer-animated adventure drama film directed by Ang Lee based on the best-selling novel written in 2001 by Yann Martel. The film is released in 2012 in American and the adapted screenplay was written by David Magee. The magical adventure story is centering on Pi Patel, the precocious son of a zoo keeper in India. The family decides to move to Canada, hitching a ride on a huge freighter. Pi luckily survived a shipwreck in which all his family died. And he stranded in the Pacific Ocean on a 26-foot lifeboat with a zebra, a hyena, an orangutan and a 450-pound Bengal tiger named Richard Parker, all fighting for survival.

The film emerged as a critical and commercial success, earning over $609 million worldwide. And after scoring four Academy Awards, Life of Pi is sure to attract lots of attention on home video, and it deserves it. On March 12, 2013, 20th Century Fox released Life of Pi 3D Blu-ray which includes Blu-ray 3D, Blu-ray, DVD and UltraViolet. 20th Century Fox's Blu-ray release does justice to the film's eye-candy visuals—particularly if you go for the 3D version—and the disc includes a wealth of special features, including a terrific hour-long making-of documentary. Highly recommended!

Life of Pie Review
  • Flawed, yes, but marvellously ambitious, and unforgettably gorgeous to look at. - Tom Huddleston from Time Out

  • A movie that can't be dismissed because there is too much in it but can't be embraced because it's all spread too thin. - Mick LaSalle from San Francisco Chronicle
  • This movie is to be seen and experienced. It is not to be heard. - Will Leitch from Deadspin
  • The power of Life of Pi sneaks up on you, rather like the raw sadness of Lee's best-known previous prestige pic, Brokeback Mountain. - Margot Harrison from Seven Days
  • "Life of Pi" isn't just a visual effects movie stuck at sea. There's a compelling story here as well. - James Plath from Movie Metropolis
