Spirited Away is Miyazaki's most successful film. It stayed
in Japanese theaters for more than ten months when it was released there in
July 2001 and made over $234 million, becoming the highest-grossing movie in
the country's box office history. Following this tremendous success in its
native country, Spirited Away was translated into English with Lasseter's
guidance and dubbed by a virtual who's-who of previous Disney voiceover stars.
It was met with nearly universal critical and public acclaim and won the 2002
Best Animated Feature Academy Award. It won numerous awards all over the world.
The US theatrical release date is September 20, 2002. It is
rated PG for some scary moments. On April 15, 2003, the Spirited Away DVD version released.
Unfortunately, the Spirited Away Blu ray version is still on the way. Anyway, for most of us,
DVD version is also good.

Brief introduction of Spirited Away:
The film spirits us away along Chihiro (Lilo & Stitch's
Daveigh Chase), a ten-year-old girl who is forced to leave her friends behind and
move to a new home in the suburbs with her parents (Michael Chiklis and Lauren
Holly). When Chihiro’s parents are turned into pigs, she has no choice but to
move in with the spirits who visit the nearby bathhouse in the hopes of earning
their freedom from the witch who owns the place. The
plot is incredibly psychedelic if you approach it from an American point of
view. What follows is an imaginative adventure filled with Miyazaki’s
favorite themes of family, loyalty, friendship and environmental preservation.
Think you're too hip for Japanese anime about a lost ten-year-old girl whose parents turn into snorting pigs? Get over it.

Ooh! The DVDs are also available. That’s amazing. I know that everything available online today but there is a different fun of watching movies on DVD. Anyway, I do watch shows by Andy Yeatman online but I would love to buy this for my kids. It was great coming across this post.
